There are plenty of blame to go around, starting with our support of the SPLA and John Garang 10 years ago:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Darfur+CIA+early+involvement

At any rate the original Darfur mess we started has since been replaced with inter-tribal conflict and herdsmen fighting for territory. Neither Khartoum nor Beijing has much influence over that.

China is simply a scapegoat.bobby fletcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17988368193662201410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34770350.post-81545481568593881502008-02-17T13:52:00.000-05:002008-02-17T13:52:00.000-05:00I have often replied to CC's comments at Tigerhawk...I have often replied to CC's comments at Tigerhawk, not always in a positive manner.

CC, your warning that the Chinese may be of greater danger to the US than the Islamofascists is definitely worth considering.

In my opinion, there is no group more ethnocentric than the Han (Chinese). I base this on comparing them with grad students from other countries. This is based on my experience as a grad student when I had roommates from China and other countries, and from observations of fellow grad students.

While all people, all groups are self-interested, the Chinese take this self-interest to the max.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34770350.post-17844966964652706982008-02-17T13:23:00.000-05:002008-02-17T13:23:00.000-05:00Is there a link to Mia Farrow's op-ed about the Ol...Is there a link to Mia Farrow's op-ed about the Olympics?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34770350.post-41444940421072450502008-02-14T19:54:00.000-05:002008-02-14T19:54:00.000-05:00Nat Turner and a dozen people remember John Foster...Nat Turner and a dozen people remember John Foster Dulles.Hathorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12657524404057819428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34770350.post-88733564479695759802008-02-14T18:08:00.000-05:002008-02-14T18:08:00.000-05:00Africa misery should be addressed by the so called...Africa misery should be addressed by the so called African-American. Oops--- forgot we can't have any international or global chores. China is only doing what others have been doing for ages. Boycott by the Afr-Amer atheletes? The master gets them at an early age to see themselves as solo (special) at an early age. They will "never" polorize on any issue that deals with any social progress. More income is generated in one day by the atheletes than a year of donations to Negro College Fund. (except that i'm a big fan of the Olympics so no dap there).

The Chinese have quietly made it into many parts of the world and while I thought that to be great at first, I consistently hear that for the most part they don't integrate into the new societies as much as they are business only. At that time no senior officials from the Bush Administration had made that trip.

I had to shake my head when a senior official from the Sudanese gov't said on camera that there is nothing going on in Darfur. He claimed all of this controversy is posturing by American politicians to win the African-American vote. Please, has this man been to a Darfur rally?
