USAIR crash in Hudson River. A reminder...

That it's not just God and Osama bin Laden who can make nasty things happen. Now I'm freaked out as to the possibilities on a very cold Inauguration Day...hell, whole weekend of craziness.

The photo is instructive as usually USAIR treats its passengers like this, sans the icy cold water and wind (which even for a few minutes can kill you despite your blubber content). Now you know better than to ignore the safety card in the seat pocket...especially the part about "in the unlikely event of a water landing..."

I'm watching this on MSNBC. The water can kill you quicker than a bullet often.

I've had some shitacular experiences on US Air. My heart goes out to the passengers on that plane.

Professor - whaddya know things worked they way they are suppose to in an emergency. The pilots put the bird down in one piece, the attendants got everyone out shaken and stirred but not broken, and Fire/water rescue was there to pick em up.... It was great to watch it happen!!!

With all the craziness over the last year it's reassuring to see we people sometimes get it right (even it's because of an emergency).

Is it a sign that there is hope for our future???

Anonymous - I think it is a sign that there is hope for us somewhere. What an amazing thing.

At about the two minute mark you can see US Air Flight 1549 skid into the Hudson. Then, you can see the passengers climb out onto the wings. This video is 10 minutes long. Actual video of Flight 1549 skidding into the Hudson.

Sorry to change course here, Professor will you review this movie, Medicine For Melancholy, see trailer.

Do not like the title, melancholy is my always state of self.
If anyone cares to know.

Refreshing to see a trailer of an afro-american movie without [commercial] smooth/soul or hip hop songs.
