Hiatus

It's Reunions time at Princeton, and as this is a "big" one I'm off on hiatus. To the left is a photo from my 20th reunion a few years ago hahaha. Indeed, "Liar's Dice" wasn't invented by "Davy Jones " on the Flying Dutchman, but rather at Tiger Inn. I'm excited...nervous. Should be great!

Will be halting briefly at Book Expo America at the Javits Center in NYC, and kvetching with my book agent. A friend who runs an African American-themed bookclub in North Carolina asked me what the "African American Pavilion" was at BEA. One of her clubmates came to BEA here in DC last year, and while she was caught up in the "star-gazing" and the flurry of bodies, it didn't appear much got done. Well, I've always considered this our own personal Soweto, our sad Indian reservation chaulked off by "Mr. Charlie and Missy Anne." Inside our compound, we are free to the self-indulgent and the mediocre stuff flooding the "Black" section of your local Barnes & Noble. ;-) It's sad when we celebrate--even encourage--being shoved off in a corner.
Still, I'm looking to hanging my fellow authors, even if it's only for a hot second before I race back to Ol' Nassau...
Peace

Princeton: see you under the tents and at the Fields Center

BEA: I feel you. I was on a panel last year if you recall, so I chose to remain "anonymous"

BEA sounds like a whole lot of fun. The Princeton thing doesn't, but I could just be biased since my boss went there. ;) Have a good time!

heeeey...my sister was Class of 97 and is celebrating her 10th. Did you get your garish jackets and hats?!
FYI to all, this thing is a big deal--20,000 alumni and famiy come back for a long weekend of networking, partying, concerts, drinking, etc & etc! (this is their thing, like my cousin's alma mater Indiana University had its Bicycle race from "Breaking Away" movie).

I went Hampton (the real HU!!!) and we have our own fete at Homecoming.

Dude, like the Knob Creek you bought me, you have aged well. Congratz!

Regarding BEA, my wife always sends a bookclub representative and they say the same thing, but then they get "starstruck" by all of these authors and no one says a thing. Very self-congratulatory. Very-more-of-the-same.

Yep, the store was short-handed as the manager took off for New York and BEA. Many people don't know that it isn't merely a tradeshow. It is a good author showcase for publishers. You guys are the holsteins on display. LOL

Ditto for Princeton--congratulations. Our neighbor and sailing companion Charlie Smythe is Class of 56. His 50th was last year and he had some great photos.

I drop a leave a response when I like a post on a site or I have something to add
to the conversation. Usually it's caused by the passion communicated in the article I read. And after this article "Hiatus". I was actually excited enough to drop a leave a responsea response ;) I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind.
Could it be simply me or do some of the comments look as if they are left by brain dead individuals?
:-P And, if you are writing at additional places, I'd like to keep up with everything new you have to post. Could you list all of all your shared pages like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?
