Something's in the air...

I posted this on a number of different blogs...

"Amid all the rancor and pseudo-issues...are we forgetting that history is being made now? I know that sounds trite...and I also know that white folks in various newsrooms or in Peoria don't want to publicly acknowledge it (nor do folk who depend on Podunk or the burbs ofr ratings, etc.) but this is one for the history books. Clyburn doesn't need to talk about the Civil Rights movement. That's all bullshit and ephemeral when compared to the centuries coming before it, and dream planted with the tears of a couple of folk off-loaded by the Portuguese on a frosty morning, at Jamestown Va. Yeah, there were hundreds, thousands dumped by then in the Caribbean, in Brazil. But these few were the first. if you want to know why I support Obama despite my differences on policy, apporach, tenor, you need not go any deeper than those tears in the dirt..."

Well said, sir. And I'm one of the folks who's family wealth and bearing was funded--directly--by owning "human chattel." I can't say I'll be voting for him in the Fall, but I am proud nevertheless.

In politics people get together not because they LIKE each other BUT because they NEED [when BOTH interest are sustained] each other.

As with the one you choose to marry, you balance DIFFERENCES [not always a BAD thing to have] and the ...

Kudos to Barack Obama for being classy in dealing with Hillary Clinton. She sure has shown her true colors. She can't stop this one though...

Chris, CNN coverage has just had several people talk of the significance of this event and it is truly remarkable. It's a BIG step for our country and hopefully will help restore the notion of the American dream.

Why has it taken these idiots this long to proclaim history? They have been grinding us all down with Reverend Wright nonsense and flag pins. Suddenly it is "I have a dream" night even on Fox?!

Those tears watered the soil that grew this country. They don't seem to want to understand that. Many of our own people act too ignorant to accept this as well. These are the people who think R Kelly is being set up!

R Kelly is probably being set up. Fine with me because that m-f is guilty of so much he's yet to be prosecuted for, including bad music.
