I'm baaaack

Fanboys & girls, I'm back from the balmly and beautiful coast of Delaware, ready to tell it loud and proud. Sadly, no rest for the wicked. Hundreds of emails. Syllabi to make (due very soon). Manuscripts due a month ago to finish. Bills due. Y'all other writers know what a lovely sine-wave graph our income level resembles. Nuff said.
So let's begin. What makes you angry/sad/happy this Labor Day? What are looking forward to doing this Autumn?

I am praying there is no war with Iran. The ultimate dog-wagging.

Other than that I hope my closing goes off without dely now that my home lender is teetering into bankruptcy...yikes. That is my only wish for Autumn!

I'm looking forward to a house without kids this Fall for the first time in forever (both now away at college), and Britany Spears loosing her own kids to a guardian and not Kevin Federline.

This Autumn, Im looking forward to contuining in my quest to fulfill my NY resultions: Ive already begun cake decorating and singing, all I need to do now is include some art! Yea!!

Id also like to get some regular nookie (ie a boy/manfriend.

For others, Id like to see the Jena 6 obtain some sort of real justice, and city of Washington sink some money into a hospital in the underserved Southeast, rather than in another stadium.

I look forward to your new work, and getting beyond the crazy political primaries.

Ditto for New Years resolutions but I guess it's too late?

I want to see you put more book stuff up. Perhaps some excerpts?

Quite honestly, I sort of feel like the manacled person in the drawing accompanying this post write now.

Hang in there, Mr. CC. You are going to be okay.

Chambers,
Glad to see you are back! Let's see -- Autumn is my favorite season, so I am really looking forward to the cooler weather. It clears my head and reminds me of the start of the new school year (a time to organize and think new thoughts!). My wishes include getting pregnant (pray for me and my sweet husband), and finding a house for us to move into without any complications. I echo Lisa's setniment about no war with Iran, and I really want the troops to come home from Iraq.

I look forward to Chris's new books and book picks as well. However, if you are looking for something interesting to read soon, check out another book by Andrea Levy called "Fruit of the Lemon". It deals with racial issues in England through the eyes of a young woman, and her quest to find herself by visiting her parent's native Jamaica. Very good!

Peace and Love to all!

I hope to finish my novel and start looking for an agent.

Another goal is to have at least one freaking date in '07.

Fall is my favorite season. I have spent the last 9 in Los Angeles. I'm on location in Toronto for two months and looking forward to having a true fall season.

Have you read MAN GONE DOWN?

Labour Day was spent getting ready for school the next day for the rugrat. But, being still relaxed from my week in Maryland (sorry we didn't get to talk, Chris), the preparations went at a leisurely pace.

For this Fall, I plan to focus on my writing projects and less on the domestic millstone of chores that never go away.

BTW, nyc/caribbean ragazza, one of Toronto's best Fall events is "Word On The Street", which takes place at Queen's Park. It's a day-long book fair, with booksellers and authors' readings, and my favourite thing to do in the Fall.
