Resign...leave...get the f**k out!!!

When I worked for Janet Reno, right-wing clowns were constantly declaring her an enemy, a traitor, incompetent. They never backed it up because it was utterly ridiculous. Now we have an A-G who is unequivocably an incompetent fool at best, a lying hack at worst. Even Gonzales' own party wants him gone. This
is the office once occupied by Bobby Kennedy, by Nicholas Katzenbach, John Sherman. But Gonzales--as much a Hispanic as Clarence Thomas is black--is filling the shoes of scum like John Mitchell and Edwin Meese quite well. Oh and I chose that photo very carefully. That's Karl Rove there, folks. You didn't think the President was involved in any of this, did you? ;-)

Do not hold your breath on resignation. You are dealing with Washington! This is the reality:

NEW YORK - Sanjaya Malakar, who was just voted off "American Idol," could meet President Bush on Saturday. Malakar is attending the White House Correspondents Association Dinner in Washington. He's a guest of People magazine.

Bush will be attending the annual dinner.

Malakar will share a table with People magazine's other guests, Valerie Bertinelli, Zac Efron of "High School Musical," comedian Eddie Izzard and Robert Kennedy Jr.

Be afraid, be very afraid!

Aren't you being a bit harsh? It could be worse. Ashcroft could come back. I think they need someone like Gates who's low key but who will do what he or she is told.

I noticed federal firearms violation prosecutions declined sharply under Reno. Why was that?

Chicama: I saw Sanjaya in Union Station here on Saturday morning. It's enough to make you retch. With guests like Niecy Nash from "Reno 911" what is the point of this event?

Purple: What figures/source are you citing--BJS? Big Janet was under the gun, so to speak, from the right wing nuts in Congress and the NRA after Waco to rein in AFT and go SOFT on Brady enforcement. Plus, are you talking about the GOP/National Rifle Association book-cooking (I'm being kind) of stats supposedly refuting BJS attributing the "decline" to the Bailey decision?
Old news, and not terribly helpful--ask Arlen Specter. Then we'll add in all the rest: civil rights, the enviroment, consumer protection, drug kingpins at home and abroad, and the general praying mantis vibe Janet laid down. I'd takeher over this Uncle Tomaso Bush has in there now...

I think the Democrats are being hypocrites in one basic way. They knew this guy was a lightweight and a cypher, a lackey. The Senate confirmed him and that's that. Now they want to persecute him for being exactly what everybody knew he was all about? That's just as ridiculous as Bush vowing to keep him in the job.

Secondly, I don't think he's tarnished the office of Attorney General, for there have been some true bandits, liars, tyrants and other lackeys holding of that office other than Nixon's guys, et al. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst, Gonzales is probably only a 5.5.

All that stated, he's probably sticking around because Rove hasn't found him a suitable bail-out place to land in yet!

I would like to thank you for your recommendation of The Politics of Jesus by Dr. Hendricks. Great book that we discussed with our pastor over TWO evenings!

And just how long do you think it would take the Democrats to permit annother AG into the post? My prediction would be January 11, 2008.

Admittedly the decision to release the USA's was made badly, they should have released the names of the USA's who were going to be retained, a half-dozen or so a week as they were determined to be doing their jobs well. The last week, make a simple announcement that all of the retainment announcements had been completed, and that the remaining positions were being advertized for their new USA's.
